Improved safety and crash protection while better engines and equipment levels ensure the Chrysler is class-competitive again. There are countless seating options and clever touches inside, although the Grand is the more practical. Top-spec models have electronically powered doors and tailgate. An enticing package in terms of value for money. Other major new features on the 2004 Chrysler Voyager include: Three-Row supplemental side curtain airbags: Three-row, A to D-pillar side curtain airbags provide full-length coverage for all three rows of seats. The front exterior incorporates a new fascia, grille and quad projector headlamps. These striking visual changes bring ‘the new face of Chrysler' to Voyager. New bodyside mouldings, new wheel covers and alloy wheels across the range. NVH reduced by 16%. 3 versions of extended-wheelbase Grand Voyager: LX, Limited and Limited XS. Two versions of its standard-wheelbase Voyager: SE and LX. SE available with 2.4 petrol and the 2.5 CRD diesel engines with manual transmission only. 3.3 litre V6 engine and the new 2.8 CRD engine and transmission will available on all LX, Limited and Limited XS models.

For 2005, the entire Chrysler Grand Voyager range features a unique seating system that allows the seats to be folded flat into the floor in less than 30 seconds. Stow ‘n Go seating allows the second- and third-row seats to be folded into, and uniquely not onto, the floor. Folding the seats involves a virtually effortless one-hand operation without the need for the head restraints to be removed. With both the second- and third-row seats folded, the Chrysler Grand Voyager has a completely flat load floor and a maximum cargo volume of 4690 litres (165.6 cu.ft). With the second and third row seats upright, spacious, covered storage bins are available providing a total of 340 litres (12 cu.ft) of extra under-floor storage space. The rear three-seat bench also now offers a 60/40 split, and as the seats fold into covered storage bins, owners will not have to worry about damaging seat backs once they have been folded. "Allowing the seats to be folded flat into the floor removes the need to remove the seats completely to accommodate large items, while having a 60/40 split rear seat also means you can carry long packages and still seat up to five people. Trips to the garden centre will never be the same again!" Other new features on the 2005 Grand Voyager include an internal overhead rail system on Limited and Limited XS which includes an overhead console with up to six moveable and removable storage bins, rear temperature controls and an optional DVD screen. For the first time in a people carrier, Chrysler Group engineers used Super High Density (SHD) foam cushion seating that was originally developed by NASA to improve the seat comfort for astronauts. The use of SHD was key to designing seats that could be folded as needed, but without losing comfort. In order to fit the seating and storage system into the Grand Voyager, the development team had not only to invent folding seats, but also create an entirely new underbody and engineer a load floor for the second-row seats. They also needed to design a new fuel tank, exhaust system, parking brake cables, rear climate control lines, and modify the rear suspension.
